Bellaire Travel Guide
Welcome to Bellaire, MI!
Bellaire is a fishing village near Grand Traverse Bay in Michigan. The town is surrounded by two major lakes, Intermediate Lake and Lake Bellaire, making boating and fishing opportunities for perch, bass, walleye and trout possible. Other outdoor activities can be found at the Shanty Creek Resort, where visitors enjoy snowboarding and skiing in the winter and swimming and golfing in the summer. To discover Bellaire’s past, visit the Bellaire Historical Museum, which documents the area’s past activities and depicts life from the Civil War until the 1960s. Also, do not miss the Grass River Natural Area, a nature preserve with creeks, wetlands, rivers and wildlife habitats. Visitors can hike miles of trails, enjoy birdwatching in this natural area and enroll in crosscountry skiing and snowshoeing classes offered during the winter.
